About me

I’m Usman, a Product Designer with focus on ERP system applications and dashboards. Currently I’m senior UX Designer at Synergy-IT. I also mentor junior designers and occasionally write about design.

I’m at my best when helping others uncover solutions & creating meaningful designs. As a designer, I’m passionate about solving tough problems by combining thoughtful research, viable technology, and beautiful design.

I am working on distribution & logistics systems for Scandinavian market for more than 6 years.

Principles

Iterate on best work

Good design needs to be refined over and over to make it simpler and easier to use for everyone, including those you haven't yet thought about.

Go beyond the standards

I’m not bound to any time zones or tied to a location. The project dictates who I need to collaborate with and when. I always try to walk the extra mile.

Make em wear the shoes

Design is not about convincing stakeholders; it's about educating them.

Clean and simple

Clean code, fuss-free interfaces and expert execution, design as it should be.

Process

For each client, there’s a custom work process suitable to project requirements. In general, my first step is to understand the client’s ideas (or product’s requirements), and then conduct research while taking into consideration competitors and the specific conditions of the target market.

Then, I map whatever is working and take notes of everything that doesn’t.

Following research and the observation of both emotional and quantitative data, the next step is usually providing the client with the distilled information needed to support the creation of a successful product or process with the best user experience.

It can be a one-time meeting, a series of them or an ongoing project after the launch.

Also, I try to learn new methods and processes, while becoming an integral part of the team.
